ROBS Compliance Calendar
Generate an editable planning calendar for common ROBS plan, filing, valuation, corporate-tax, payroll, and employee-administration touchpoints.
Direct answer: this tool is useful when you need a dated checklist to compare against a provider calendar, CPA calendar, payroll calendar, plan document, and ERISA counsel instructions. It is not a filing service, reminder system, eligibility determination, or professional advice.

The calendar is deterministic and browser-local. It does not use AI, network calls, query strings, storage, cookies, accounts, reminders, filing submission, calendar integrations, clipboard permissions, provider scoring, or lead capture.
How to use the calendar
Enter the plan year end from the plan document, not from memory. Enter participant count as a filing fact to discuss with the plan administrator. Add corporate tax classification only when you know the federal filing classification and corporate tax year. Then compare every generated date with written provider and CPA calendars before relying on it.
For federal tax filing prompts, the model applies the IRS Saturday, Sunday, and legal holiday adjustment described in Publication 509. [4] When a date changes, the event shows the raw due date and the adjusted planning date.
What is included and excluded
Included: Form 5500-series original timing, Form 5558 extension prompts, Form 8955-SSA applicability checks, corporate income-tax return prompts, Form 7004 extension prompts, W-2/W-3 and 1099-NEC prompts, valuation record review, and employee eligibility/census review. [1] [3] [5]
Excluded: payroll deposit schedules, state corporate reports, franchise taxes, plan-loan amortization, participant-specific distribution notices, QDRO processing, RMD calculations, blackout notices, safe-harbor notice timing, corrective filings, and legal conclusions. Those can depend on facts and documents outside this browser screen.
Examples of interpretation
- A calendar-year plan generally shows a Form 5500-series original prompt on July 31 of the following year, subject to weekend or federal holiday adjustment.
- A ROBS-funded C corporation with a December 31 tax year shows a Form 1120 prompt in mid-April. A June 30 C corporation year end uses the September 15 original due-date lane and the seven-month Form 7004 extension lane, but the CPA must confirm short-year, extension, payment, and state-return rules.
- An annual valuation prompt at plan year end is a records window, not a universal federal valuation filing deadline. The valuation engagement and stock records should be confirmed with the provider and valuation professional.
Limitations and privacy
The calendar is educational. It does not determine whether a ROBS is compliant, whether a plan must file a particular form, whether a filing was accepted, whether a contribution or notice is timely, or whether an extension is valid. It does not replace a ROBS provider, plan administrator, CPA, payroll provider, valuation professional, ERISA attorney, or fiduciary review.
The tool runs locally in the browser. It does not ask for contact information, names, account balances, EINs, Social Security numbers, participant records, or provider documents. It does not store data, does not set cookies, does not mutate the URL, does not send network requests, and does not transmit inputs.
FAQ
Does this calendar file anything or send reminders?
No. It only creates browser-local planning prompts. It does not file forms, submit extensions, send reminders, store data, create calendar events, or contact a provider.
Why are some items marked confirm instead of applies?
Some ROBS obligations depend on plan terms, participant facts, valuation scope, provider engagement, corporate tax year, payroll facts, or professional judgment. The tool marks those as confirmation windows rather than fixed federal deadlines.
How are weekends and federal holidays handled?
For modeled federal tax filing prompts, the tool moves a Saturday, Sunday, or District of Columbia legal holiday date, including District of Columbia Emancipation Day when applicable, to the next nonholiday weekday. It labels both raw and adjusted dates when they differ.
Can this replace a provider, CPA, or ERISA attorney calendar?
No. Use it to gather questions and compare dates against plan documents, provider calendars, CPA workpapers, payroll records, and ERISA counsel guidance.
